# Google Calendar

> Sync tasks with due times to your Google Calendar automatically.

## What it is

Google Calendar sync mirrors your Znift tasks that have a `dueTime` onto your Google Calendar as events. If you live in your calendar, this brings Znift's due-time tasks into the same view as your meetings and time blocks.

## What syncs

* **Tasks with a `dueTime` set** — these become calendar events at the specified time.
* **Event title** — the task text.
* **Event duration** — each event is a fixed 30-minute block starting at the task's due time. Task-level durations (from [Natural time input](/features/natural-time)) are stored in Znift but aren't reflected in calendar event length in v1.
* **Event description** — includes the task priority and a link back to Znift.

Tasks **without** a `dueTime` are not synced. The calendar is not a substitute for the Znift dashboard — only time-attached tasks appear.

## How to connect

1. Sign in to Znift.
2. Go to **Profile → Integrations**.
3. Click **Connect Google Calendar**.
4. Authorize the requested scopes in the Google consent screen. Znift requests only the minimum scopes needed to write events to a dedicated "Znift" calendar.
5. Once connected, new tasks with a `dueTime` appear on your Google Calendar within a few seconds.

## How to disconnect

1. Go to **Profile → Integrations**.
2. Click **Disconnect Google Calendar**.

Disconnecting stops new syncs immediately. Events already written to your calendar stay there until you remove them manually — Znift does not delete past events on disconnect.

## Behavior on edits

* **Edit a task's text or due time** → the corresponding Google Calendar event updates.
* **Delete or archive a task** → the event is removed from Google Calendar.
* **Clear the `dueTime` on a task** → the event is removed from Google Calendar (the task itself stays in Znift).
